An inferior weapon sight can place people in grave danger, whether you hunt for game or defend fellow soldiers in combat. The EOTech class action lawsuit claims several holographic weapons designed and manufactured by the company contain four defects that significantly affect the performance of the weapons. Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit list four major issues that include parallax, thermal drift, reticle dimming from moisture, and distortion of the reticle in cold weather. “As a result, EOTech Sights do not possess the durability, reliability or accuracy represented by Defendants,” according to the EOTech class action lawsuit.
A class action settlement reached between plaintiffs and the EOTech division of L-3 Communications Corporation covers EOTech holographic weapons manufactured between January 1, 2005 and November 1, 2016. Class members that purchased one of the defective holographic weapons during the more than 11 years legally mandated period might be eligible to receive monetary damages.
EOTech insists the company’s holographic weapon sights deliver 100% accuracy for both novice and advanced shooters. However, the plaintiffs assert the weapon sight defects diminish shot accuracy.
