BDS has established itself as a nationally known public defender office that provides comprehensive legal representation to low-income Brooklyn residents who are charged with a crime, accused of abuse or neglect of their children, or are in immigration detention each year. BDS employs a staff of highly dedicated and talented attorneys, social workers, investigators, and support staff to provide vigorous client representation in our core areas of criminal, family, and immigration defense to people facing the dire consequences of imprisonment, loss of their children, or deportation. BDS provides integrated related services to its clients as well, including help with the housing, immigration, or education consequences that are caused or are impacted by the case.
