City Bar Justice Center – Lawyers Foreclosure Intervention Network (LFIN) may be able to assist with your unique legal needs. The Lawyers’ Foreclosure Intervention Network (LFIN) is a pro bono project funded by the New York State Office of the Attorney General. The project provides legal assistance to low-to-moderate income homeowners facing foreclosure. Volunteer attorneys assist homeowners in obtaining loan modifications, represent them in foreclosure settlement conferences, and also assist with short sales and deeds in lieu of foreclosure when home retention is not an option. We interview clients in our office at the City Bar to determine eligibility and then make our best efforts to match the homeowner with a volunteer. The program is open to anyone in the five boroughs who is facing foreclosure and living in the home they own, both those who have been served with legal papers and those who are not yet in court but are having trouble paying their mortgage.
