CLARO – Civil Legal Advice and Resource Office may be able to assist with your unique legal needs. The Civil Legal Advice and Resource Office (CLARO) provides limited legal advice through volunteer lawyers to New York City residents who have consumer debt issues, including unrepresented New Yorkers who have been sues in the New York City Civil Court in debt collection cases. Weekly CLARO sessions operate in the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island in the the Civil Court. The programs are run by local bar associations and law schools. The New York City Bar and Legal Services for NYC Bronx are also partners in Bronx CLARO.
