Marion-Polk Legal Aid Service – Legal Aid Services of Oregon may be able to assist with your unique legal needs. Marion-Polk Legal Aid Service (MPLAS), a regional office of Legal Aid Services of Oregon located in Salem, provides advice and representation to low-income citizens in Marion and Polk counties.
Intake hours are Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., and Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Marion-Polk office provides advice and representation in the following areas:
Family Law cases where the applicant is a survivor of domestic violence, including divorce, child custody, and restraining or civil stalking protective orders.
Housing law, including federally-subsidized housing problems.
Public Benefits, including SSI and SSD, TANF, Food Stamps/SNAP, and Medicare or Medicaid/Oregon Health Plan cases.
Senior Issues (60 years of age or older), including assisted living facility problems, guardianships and conservatorship defense, and debt collection and financial abuse.
Spanish speaking staff are also available.
