Reentry Clinic at William Mitchell may be able to assist with your unique legal needs. The Reentry Clinic provides civil legal services to women who have been released from prison, or are nearing the end of their incarceration. Through law students, the clinic helps clients overcome the barriers to successful community reintegration. The clinic provides legal services and guides clients to community resources. The clinic addresses issues that broadly affect reentry as well as those that affect individual clients. Through careful supervision and teaching, law students provide cost-effective and creative services to clients.
The Reentry Clinic was established in December 2007 as a collaboration between the Department of Corrections, the Public Defender’s Office, and William Mitchell College of Law. We use a traditional law school model where certified students represent clients under the supervision of the director of the clinic. At this point all of the women we represent who are out in the community are successful. None have violated parole or reoffended.
