FLORIDA KB HOME CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT

KB HOME is paying $6.5 million to the Office of the Attorney General for, among other things, restitution of consumers affected by KB HOME’s conduct.  To qualify to receive a restitution payment, you must be a current or former owner of a home built by KB HOME in Florida since April 17, 2005 and have incurred out-of-pocket expenses as a direct result of a construction defect in your home or the repairs conducted by KB HOME or one of its contractors.  The loss and expense must have occurred before the date of the entry of the Final Judgment.  Claims are limited to property loss claims only.

To obtain a restitution payment, you may submit a claim through the Online Claim Filing section of this website.

You may also contact the claims administrator, A.B. Data, Ltd., at 1-888-210-5486 to obtain a claim form.
To make a claim for restitution, you will need to provide the following information:

–  The date of loss;

–  A statement describing how the loss was caused by KB HOME or by one of KB HOME’s contractors; and

–  Documentation of the loss, including repair records, receipts, and photographs.

Homeowners will have until August 10, 2017, to submit a claim for restitution. Claims that qualify for payment will be paid at the end of the 18 month claim period.

Who’s Eligible

Your home may be eligible for repairs if you currently own a home built by KB Home in Florida, and the original buyer of the home purchased the home from KB Home after April 17, 2005, and the home has a stucco crack or delaminated stucco.

Proof of Purchase

Claimants must submit proof that they currently or formerly owned a home in Florida that was built by KB Home. Claimants must also provide proof of loss and evidence of payment in order to be eligible for a restitution.
